ROTTEN CREATION

A letter to society

Dear People.

Is it true that we lose ourselves living in modern times?

Are we drowning in social media?

Is it true that we don’t appreciate the small things but always need bigger and better?

Is it true that we claim to be sustainable but don’t act upon it?

For ones let us use our minds!

Set free your imagination.

Return to a world of craftsmanship and tailoring.

Turn your back on fast fashion.

With this experiment, I’m trying to comprehend if the world is moving too fast?

Do people still see through their own eyes or do they see the world through digital ones?

Are we able to appreciate details?

People gather for once ingurgitate the prints…

Did you notice?

If so, you are fine.

Concept inspiration:

Mimosa Echard is fascinated by the notion of tensegrity. By bringing opposites and contrasts into play, Mimosa Echard develops ingenious combinations that create certain poetic alchemy and ‘’seek to find the balance between poison and its antidote between the natural and the artificial.’’  In this way, the portraits presented are the result of an inventory of green waste.

Print inspiration:

French artist Frederic Delange creates densely layered abstract photographs of the insides of compost bins. Part hippie chic and part ab-ex, Delangle’s images take the eco-friendly and the familiar and transform it into piles of abstract goodness.
