ABOUT ME

As a designer, you can tell a story. You can talk about social issues, your love for something or make a statement. That’s what I like about design, the freedom to tell a story. My designs revolve around craftmanship, stratification, and detail. The items are body following and show lingerie accents. Design that could give a woman a sense of elegance and power, the independent women.

I always work from a sustainable point of view. The fashion industry is one of the most polluting industries and it is the job of young designers to make a difference here. For example, I like to work with leftover material, responsible fabrics or recycled substances. It is important for me to be responsible, in the end, we have only one earth. Sustainability should be the number one priority in the creative process.

Feeling blue

Blue does not defeat but draws us towards it. Outside the sea and the sky, blue is an unknown color in nature. Blue is connected to the hereafter and shows supernatural beauty. Blue brings us into a meditative mood. Blue cools and soothes, it is the color of the moonlight. Psychologically, the color blue can be seen as the midpoint between the black of despair (the earth) and the white of hope and clarity (utopia).

Rotten creation

Is it true that we lose ourselves living in modern times?

Is it true that we don’t appreciate the small things but always need bigger and better?

For ones let us use our minds!
Set free your imagination.

With this experiment, I’m trying to comprehend if the world is moving too fast?

Do people still see through their own eyes or do they see the world through digital ones?

No waist

Nowadays social media has a lot to say about beauty. There is a lot of image manipulation with the help of photoshop. This makes the ideal body not realistic for a lot of women. The corset is back again and people again people are using waist trainers to create a small waist. The ‘’image’’ influences people negatively. Some women are not happy with their shape and do everything for perfection. People are considering plastic surgery or other methods, some of them can’t stop changing themselves and have serious Botox addiction or anorexia.

Trying to change yourself has led to this concept. The concept shows the ongoing struggle with the perfectionism of humanity.

But isn’t beauty on the inside?

Uncanny

Inspired by the icons Frida Kahlo and Miley Cyrus, this seasonless collection is about creating discomfort. Deforming the body by combining oversized, heavy knits with a tight fitting piece.

UNCANNY pays a lot of attention to the environment, and sustainability is a big part of this collection. Recycled fabrics are cut into pieces and knitted together by hand, which is why each piece has a unique feel.

Within this project we worked together as a team. The branding, management and design departments at AMFI created a innovative sustainable brand, based on our two given icons Frida Kahlo and Miley Cyrus.
